Mitglied des Obergerichts, Vizepräsident in den 1830er Jahren, Präsident 1840, 1846 und 1849. Hält sich wegen Anfeindungen im übrigen aus der kantonalen Politik heraus. Mitgründer und Präsident der Sparkasse Waldenburg; Mitglied des Verwaltungsrats der BL Hypothekenbank, mehrmals Präsident. Beteiligt sich an weiteren gemeinnützigen Werken seiner Wohngemeinde.
