In Sizilien 1891-93; befasst sich hier besonders mit dem Ätna. Anschliessend in Ägypten; stellt in Aquarellen Szenen aus Kairo und Umgebung dar. Lässt sich 1898 in Locarno nieder. Malt von hier aus eine grosse Zahl Tessiner Landschaften. Hat mit seinem «lebenswahren» Stil grossen Erfolg. Käufer sind neben Privaten Museen und Institutionen.
