In den Verwaltungsräten von Nordostbahn 1896-99, SBB ab 1902 und Waldenburgerbahn ab 1912. Im Bankrat der BL Kantonalbank 1931-35. Präsident des Kantonalen Gewerbeverbandes 1912-19; im Zentralvorstand des Schweiz. Gewerbeverbandes 1909-24, hier auch Mitglied der Lehrlingsprüfungskommission. Erarbeitet das kantonale Baugesetz von 1902. Politische Kämpfe liegen ihm nicht.
